Bio: Hi there! I'm Aly and I'm in my third semester at Cañada College. I am majoring in Computer Science and I'm hoping to get my Associates before transferring in Fall of 2019! I transitioned to a full-time student at Cañada after working at a software company in Sacramento, where I was taking online and night classes to slowly chip at my requirements for transfer. In my time here, I've learned how to navigate through some of the programs and utilized the incredible resources the campus has to offer. I want to help you get the most of your time at Cañada, either by helping guide you to tools that can help you succeed or sharing my experience in the workforce. If you see me around campus or in one of your classes, don't hesitate to say hey! I look forward to getting to know you!

“ I CAN…provide you with resources for your needs in order to help you get by as a student here at Canada.”
Bio: I was born and raised in Mexico City, and immigrated to California at the young age of nine. As a first-generation student, I understand that dedication and support is needed to be successful in my future career. I have learned this through my experiences in being a student athlete, an EPIC tutor for the STEM Center, and by being a part of various clubs on campus. As I joined Cañada, focusing on my STEM major, I was unaware about the many opportunities and programs that Cañada had to offer. Looking back, it would have benefitted me greatly. New to being a mentor, my ultimate goal is to help my community thrive just as positively as I did. I have studied at Cañada for three years now, and plan to transfer to San Jose State or Cal Poly (SLO) in the fall of 2018 – getting my degree in Civil Engineering. I am happily looking forward to helping and assisting you with any questions or concerns that you approach me with. I will be at the STEM Center anytime, so do not be afraid to ask.
